Offering Hope Through Two Successful Programs

Our organization is currently centered on our two programs. In order to respond to the immediate needs of our returning military personnel Heroes and Healthy Families program was developed to educate military personnel recently returning from war about combat stress and related issues in order to reduce the psychological trauma experienced by military families. Heroes and Healthy families created a teen dating violence prevention curriculum in 2004 with Save the Date, and we continue to move forward with this program.

The Family Violence Project has a ten-year history of successfully educating those in the community who touch the lives of children, making California a safer and healthier place. Since opening its doors in 2002, as a result of a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice Office for Victims of Crime, the FVP has provided intensive family violence prevention training to the following community members: 23,785 educators; 14,833 faith-based leaders; 14,000 teens;    11,000 Marines and Sailors returning from the Iraq/Afghanistan war.

The Family Violence Project has focused on serving primarily military families across the United States with its newest program Heroes and Healthy Families. The Save the Date program will continue to actively serve the Orange County community. While we still use the name of The Family Violence Project as our main organization name.
